It is important that our classrooms reflect the world we live in today and we are able to understand and take advantage of the various communicative platforms that engage and fascinate our learners. Social Skills and Social Media form a fundamental part of today’s society. As educators, it is important that we fully equip our students in the practical art of effective collaboration, and global interaction, developing highly engaged and informed twenty-first-century citizens.


Online social networking could be used as a digital literacy tool for staff and students. Whereas search engines, video-sharing sites, online maps and document sharing could also help to bring your lessons to life.Effective utilisation of these kinds of technologies can certainly help to engage your students in the curriculum and offer a modern, exciting and independent platform for subject being taught.

This course aims to help both Primary and Secondary classroom practitioners to consider how social media tools and platforms could be integrated into there current teaching and learning practices.
